Canadian Retail Furniture Sales Dip in April

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in April declined 1.3% from March to $1.17 billion (CAD) and were 1.8% lower than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers decreased 1.4% from March to $3.89 billion and were unchanged from April 2023. Total Canadian retail sales in April grew 0.7% from the prior month to $66.80 billion and increased 1.8% from the year-ago period.
