Canadian Furniture Retail Sales Up Month-over-Month

Canadian seasonally adjusted retail furniture store sales in January rose 0.7% from December 2023 to $1.18 billion (CAD) but were 4.4% lower than the same month in 2023. Sales for building material dealers increased 2.2% from December and 0.1% from January 2022 to $3.93 billion. Total Canadian retail sales in January dipped 0.3% from the prior month to $67.0 billion but grew 1.0% from January 2023.
