Canadian Construction Investment Up in January

Canadian building construction investment in January 2021 was up 2.8% from December 2020 to $16.0 billion (CAD). Residential construction increased 3.9% from December to a record level of $11.6 billion, while non-residential totals were unchanged for the fourth straight month in January at $4.4 billion. Single-family spending increased 4.0% to $6.03 billion in January, and multi-unit levels rose 3.7% from December to $5.56 billion. See Statistics Canada
