Canadian Construction Investment Up in April

April Canadian building construction investment totaled $23.6 billion (CAD), increasing 2.3% from March and 7.8% from the comparable month last year. Residential construction spending grew 3.1% from March to $16.5 billion, while non-residential totals were up 0.7% to $7.1 billion. Seasonally adjusted single-family investment was 2.0% higher than March at $7.7 billion, and multi-unit levels rose 4.0% to $8.8 billion in April. See Statistics Canada
