Total investment in Canadian building construction in October was $15.2 billion (CAD), declining 0.4% from September. Residential construction increased for the sixth straight month rising 0.7% higher than September at $10.9 billion, while non-residential totals were 3.2% lower in October at $4.4 billion. Single-family spending increased 3.7% to $5.5 billion in October, however multi-unit investment fell for the first time in five months, decreasing 2.1% from September to $5.4 billion.
