Canadian Construction Investment Down in June

Canadian building construction investment in June fell 4.5% from May to $18.4 billion (CAD). Residential construction dropped 5.8% to $13.8 billion and non-residential totals decreased for the first time in six months, falling 0.4% in June to $4.6 billion. Single-family spending declined 7.3% from May to $7.5 billion, though still higher than pre-COVID levels. Multi-unit levels shrunk 3.8% from May to $6.2 billion. See Statistics Canada
