Canadian building construction investment in August totaled $17.7 billion (CAD), dropping 2.0% from July but rising 10.7% over the previous year. Residential construction fell 2.9% from July to $13.02 billion and non-residential totals increased 0.6% in August to $4.7 billion. Single-family spending was down 2.6% from July to $7.0 billion but jumped 25.6% from August 2020. Multi-unit levels decreased 3.3% to $6.0 billion in August. See Statistics Canada
