Canadian Construction Investment Decreases in May

Canadian building construction investment in May was down 0.2% from April to $20.6 billion (CAD). Residential construction spending grew slightly by 0.1% to $15.4 billion over April, and non-residential totals were 0.9% lower in May at $5.2 billion. Seasonally adjusted single-family spending declined 2.5% from April to $8.4 billion and multi-unit levels increased 3.4% to $7.0 billion in May. See Statistics Canada
