Canadian building permits in April dipped 0.5% from March to $11.1 billion (CAD) but jumped 76.1% from the year-ago period.  Residential authorizations fell 6.7% from March to $7.71 billion but were 86.1% higher than April 2020.  Single-family totals decreased to $3.58 billion, down 7% from March but soared 159.8% from the prior year.  Multi-family levels dropped 6.5% from March at $4.13 billion but climbed 49.4% from April 2020.  See Statistics Canada
