Canadian building permits in July were up 22.1% from June to $12.4 billion (CAD) and rose 6.6% from the comparable period in 2023. Residential authorizations increased 16.7% from June and 6.7% from July 2023 to $7.6 billion. Single-family totals were $2.6 billion, dipping 1.9% from last month and decreasing 4.5% from July 2023. Multi-family levels reached $5.0 billion in July, surging 29.3% from June and 13.6% from the same month last year.
