August U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Grow

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in August rose 1.3% from July to $586.0 billion. Wood product shipments were up 0.5% in August to $13.4 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products were unchanged from July at $6.7 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing grew 1.2% from July to $586.1 billion in August. Furniture and related product orders increased 2.2% to $6.6 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
