August U.S. Manufacturing Shipments Climb

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in August rose 0.5% from July to $547.9 billion. Wood product shipments were up 0.5% in August to $12.9 billion compared to the prior month. Shipments of furniture and related products grew 0.3% from July to $6.2 billion.

August new orders for all U.S. manufacturing were mostly unchanged from July at $548.4 billion. Furniture and related product orders in August dropped 0.8% from the previous month to $6.1 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
