U.S. residential furniture factory orders in August decreased 3% from July and were down 3% from the same month last year. Year-to-date orders dropped 1% from the same period in 2024.
Furniture shipments rose 5% from July but were 6% lower than August 2024. Shipments fell 1% through the first eight months of 2025 compared to last year. Backlogs dipped 1% from the prior month and were unchanged from August 2024. See Smith Leonard
