U.S. residential furniture factory orders in August decreased 34% from the comparable month in 2021. Year-to-date orders fell 29% over the same period in 2021.
Furniture shipments increased 9% from August 2021 and were up 6% year-to-date. With shipments outpacing new orders, July backlogs declined 35% from 2021. See Smith Leonard
