U.S. residential furniture factory orders in August dropped 14% from the comparable month in 2020 but were up 30% from the same month in pre-Covid 2019. Year-to-date orders rose 29% over the first eight months of 2020 and 35% over 2019, with 82% of participants reporting increases.
Furniture shipments grew 10% over August 2020 and year-to-date totals increased 34% from the same period last year. Shipments were higher for 91% of participants.
