Architecture Billings Increase Again in May

The May Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased 0.6 points from April to 58.5, one of the highest scores ever, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts rose 1.5 points from April to 63.2, the highest score since data collection began in 2010.

May billings continued to rise and were in positive territory across all geographic regions, led by the Midwest. Firms of all specializations saw billing improvements, with Commercial/Industrial leading for the third consecutive month and Multifamily Residential growing after a winter decline.  See AIA
