The Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased 3.3 points to 49.5 in February, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. While February’s score is the highest reading since July 2023, it is still below the 50 no-change mark, indicating a slowdown but providing an optimistic outlook. Design contracts rose 1.4 points from January to 51.1. A score above 50 indicates growth.
February billings were below 50 in all geographic regions except the Midwest, which scored 50.8. All sectors remained under 50 except Institutional at 50.7. See AIA
