Architectural Billings Soften in December

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) fell 5.5 points to 44.1 in December 2024, and design contracts decreased 2.8 points to 45.5. December billings were below 50 in all sectors and regions except the west, with a score of 52.2. Firms reported 6.5 months of backlogs in December. A score above 50 indicates growth. See AIA
