The April Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased 2.3 points from March to 57.9, the highest score since before the Great Recession, according to The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group. A score below 50 indicates a decline in billings. Design contracts rose 6.0 points from March to 61.7, the highest score since data collection began in 2010.
April billings increased and were in positive territory across all geographic regions, led by the Midwest and South. Firms of all specializations saw billing improvements, with Commercial/Industrial leading for the second month in a row at 59.1. See AIA
