The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) fell 1.4 points to 44.1 in March, while design contracts increased 0.4 points to 42.4. Project backlogs averaged 6.5 months at architectural firms. March billings were below 50 in all sectors and regions. A score above 50 indicates growth. See AIA
