The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Economics & Market Research Group’s Architecture Billings Index (ABI) increased 3.2 points to 48.5 in December 2025 but remained below 50, marking 14 straight months of industry contraction. All regions reported billings below 50, except the Midwest, which had a score of 51.7. Billings were below 50 in all sectors, while inquiries were just above 50 in December.
