April U.S. Wood Product and Furniture Shipments Down

Seasonally adjusted shipments for all U.S. manufacturing industries in April were $598.9 billion, dipping 0.3% from March. Wood product shipments fell 1.3% in April to $13.8 billion, and furniture and related products shipments declined 0.5% from March to $7.5 billion.

New orders for all U.S. manufacturing were $594.6 billion in April, 3.7% lower than the prior month. Furniture and related product orders totaled $7.6 billion, up 0.1% from March. See U.S. Census Bureau
