U.S. residential furniture factory orders in April were $2.21 billion, up 21.5% from the comparable month last year and 1.0% from March. Year-to-date new orders increased 7.6% compared to the first four months of 2023.
Furniture shipments rose 1.5% from April 2023 to $2.20 billion but decreased 1.7% from March. Backlogs were $2.69 billion, shrinking 11.5% from April 2023 but growing 1.8% from the prior month. See Smith Leonard
