April U.S. Construction Up Slightly

U.S. construction spending in April was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.52 trillion, up 0.2% from March and 9.8% higher than the year prior.  Private construction spending increased 0.4% from March to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.18 trillion.  Residential levels for April rose 1.0% from the previous month to $729.2 billion and non-residential totals fell 0.5% from March to $451.4 billion.  See  U.S. Census Bureau
