U.S. Forest Service to Study Carbon Stored in Wood Products

The U.S. Forest Service 2024 fiscal year budget, which was approved this week, included funds to advance wood products. CPA successfully lobbied for funding of an annual study of the carbon stored in wood products to be conducted by the Forest Products Laboratory (FPL), a division of the Forest Service. This anticipated study will be a priority topic, and CPA will meet with an FPL representative specializing in sustainability and carbon storage-related research in the coming month to discuss the report.
