U.S. residential furniture factory orders in December 2024 were up 1% from the comparable month in 2023 but 15% lower than November. New orders in 2024 decreased 1% compared to 2023.
Furniture shipments declined 7% from November 2024 and 2% from December 2023, with year-to-date shipments falling 6% from 2023. Backlogs dipped 2% from the prior month and were 8% lower than December 2023. See Smith Leonard
