Houzz recently released its 2022 U.S. Houzz & Home Study: Renovation Trends, which surveyed 67,554 U.S. homeowners, including 33,711 currently involved in renovations, related to 2021 and/or planned 2022 renovation projects. Major findings included an increase of 20% in median spending in 2021 over 2020 to $18,000 and a four-year high in remodeling activity, with 55% of homeowners renovating last year. Kitchens remained the most popular and priciest room to renovate with the median spend increasing 25% over 2021 to $15,000.
In 2022, 55% of homeowners expect to remodel and 46% plan to decorate. The planned median spend for these renovations rose for the first time since 2018, jumping 50% to $15,000. See Houzz
