U.S. construction spending in December 2020 was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.49 trillion, rising 1.0% from November and up 5.7% from the year prior. Annual construction spending in 2020 grew 4.7% from 2019 to $1.43 trillion.
Private construction spending increased 1.2% from November to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.14 trillion. Residential levels for December expanded 3.1% from the previous month to $691.0 billion, while non-residential totals dipped 1.7% from November to $446.6 billion. See U.S. Census Bureau
