U.S. Construction Steady in May

U.S. construction spending during May was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.230 trillion, nearly the same as the revised April estimate, and 4.5% above the comparable month in 2016.

Private construction spending in May fell 0.6% to $949.3 billion, with residential levels down 0.6% to $509.6 billion and nonresidential down 0.7% to $436.7 billion from April. See U.S. Census Bureau
