Consumer Sentiment in U.S. Rises

As of March, Americans are the most satisfied with the current state of their finances and the economy than in the past 16 years, according to the preliminary results of a University of Michigan consumer survey.  The survey’s index of current economic conditions rose 3 points from February to 114.5 in March, the highest reading since November 2000. Consumer expectations increased 6.4% from March 2016 to 86.7. See Bloomberg and University of Michigan
