U.S. Home Sales Rise in January

U.S. sales of new single-family homes in January were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 555,000, 3.7% above the revised December rate and up 5.5% from the comparable month in 2016.  The seasonally adjusted estimate of new homes for sale at the end of January was 265,000, representing a 5.7 month supply at the current sales rate.
