U.S. Construction Spending Decreases Slightly

U.S. construction spending during January was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.18 trillion, 1% below the revised December estimate, and 3.1% above the comparable month in 2016.

Private construction spending rose 0.2% above December’s revised estimate to $911.6 billion, with residential levels up 0.5% to $476.4 billion and nonresidential remaining nearly the same at $435.4 billion.  See U.S. Census Bureau
