The Remodeling Futures Program at the Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS) of Harvard University predicts that the steady gains experienced in 2016 will continue through 2017.  JCHS’ Leading Indicator of Remodeling Activity (LIRA) estimates home improvement and repair spending in 2016 to have risen 6.9% to $297.1 billion. Gains are expected to continue through 2017 to end the year up 6.7% at $317 billion.
