Construction Spending Rises in U.S.

U.S. construction spending during October was estimated at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $1.17 trillion, 0.5% higher than September and 3.4% above the comparable month in 2015.  Year-to-date spending rose 4.5% to $972.2 billion over the same period a year ago.

Private construction dipped 0.2% below September to $885.9 billion. Residential totals were 1.6% higher at $466.2 billion and nonresidential levels fell 2.1% to $419.6 billion from the previous month. See U.S. Census Bureau
